Accessoring Your Country Garden

As you probably already know I'm a pretty big fan of the garden, anything to do with gardening, I LOVE!  Thus, I bring you a post on things one must have to accessorize their garden space.  And it just so happens that Anthropologie had everything I needed, fancy that... Birdhouse to keep the birds a tweeting and at home, a vintage rustic pot to beautifully set the right tone and mood for a country garden and my favorite, the alligator claw pot stand for those friends with a keen eye to compliment how cute it is.

A Country Wedding

A wedding somewhere green, where the air is fresh and the decor could be kept to a minimal because nature would do the job for you has always been a dream of mine.

Open Up

It must be that I just get really REALLY excited when I'm picking flowers at the Farmer's Market because somehow it doesn't even occur to me to look at the names, you do know what this means right?  Quite right, I have no idea what these beautiful blue flowers are called.  But just look how lovely they are and I've been watching them slowly open up as well which makes them all the more exciting!

Writing a novel in the country

IBM Selectric Typewriter

The country is probably the most suitable place for writing a novel and yet having a computer seems too advanced although I'm sure it would have it's quirks, but a typewriter... well, that just seems perfect doesn't it?

Shower Curtains Fit For Nature

Chaffinch Shower Curtain from Anthropologie

On a warm day after hours in the sun gardening, tending to the chickens and playing with the dogs in the field I come home with dirt under my fingernails and smudges on my knees, palms and arms.  I crave a nice warm shower.

Sweater for a cool evening out

I saw the Tulip Sleeve Cardigan at Anthropologie and just thought it darling, it would be perfect on a nice evening out in cooler weather.  The color and texture are warming and remind me of comfortable home in the country.

Feeling Green

If you've been keeping up you'll know that I've been reminding myself that it is truly the little things that make life beautiful by buying flowers on Sundays.  It's the third week of this practice and I'm still loving it, $4.00 and you'll have lovely flowers to brighten your day for a whole week.  Today I went to shop at the Farmer's Market as I usually do and this time decided to go for...  well, once again I have no idea what they're called but this week's pick seems to be more of a plant than flower, all the same they're absolutely beautiful!

A country solarium for that country sun

It probably seems absurd to have a solarium in the country since you're likely to be spending most of your days outside anyways, but I figure for rainy days it would be just grand, sit and watch the rain fall, or simply have a little lunch without having the bugs bothering you to be fed... besides, I've always wanted a Solarium and there would be no better place than in the country.

A peek into Provence, France... Lavender

When I think of a place in the country I often imagine the French country, Provence.  Funny enough I haven't yet posted a picture of country cottage in Provence- so here you go.  Isn't it just lovely!

It truly is the small things in life...

As I get older and hopefully wiser, I'm beginning to realize that it truly is the small things in life that make life beautiful, that make you realize a life with simply love and happiness is what is important.  I found this in a bouquet of sunflowers I bought a little over a week ago, and this past Sunday as I shopped around the Farmer's Market I bought another fresh bouquet of flowers to remind me that it truly is the little things.  I used to think that flowers were not worth having as they died so quickly but I'm beginning to realize that is besides the point, in the bigger picture the death of the flowers is not what matters and so from this day forth every Sunday I shall buy a bouquet of flowers to remind me, it's the little things in life that matters.

I'm not sure what these flowers are called, but they smell like vanilla
